American artist Jeff Koons (b. 1955) is widely recognized for his work dealing with popular culture and his sculptures of everyday objects. He’s best known for his Celebration series from the 1990s that consists of 16 paintings and 20 large scale mirror-finished sculptures, including the iconic balloon dog. Koons originally created “Diamond” as a 7-foot long sculpture created in 5 unique colors in mirror-p[olished stainless steel. This work was inspired by romance, anniversaries and engagements. “Diamond (Red)” is a limited edition by Koons that transforms his monumental ‘Celebration’ sculpture into a tabletop Limoges porcelain sculpture. The work was fabricated in the workshops of Bernardaud in Limoges, France.
