Belgian born, New York based artist Harold Ancart has become known for his distinctly graphic and colorful style. His paintings and drawings of landscapes and everyday objects are illuminated by delicate accents, psychedelic colors and his unique oil stick application. “Untitled (Yellow Sky)” is a print depicting an orange fire blazing up toward a smoky yellow sky. In 2014, Ancart took a road trip across America and used his Jeep as a makeshift studio, drawing moments from the American landscape along the way. He continued this practice by walking the streets and isolating poetic moments from everyday urban life. Ancart has become recognized for these organic bright abstractions of nightscapes, icebergs, flowers, sunsets, campfires and plants.
