Adam Parker Smith (b. 1968) is an American-born California-based contemporary artist famous for transforming benign everyday objects into glossy comical works of art. He is not partial to any specific medium and is well known as a painter, sculptor, videographer, and collage artist. Smith claims that his irreverently funny works stem from his own judgments, emotions, fears, and obsessions. He also credits his fellow artists for his success and composed an entire show in 2013 full of objects he had stolen during studio visits. Smith's Shibari Heart series shows resin hearts of various colors tied with rope, depicting the practice of Japanese rope bondage (shibari).
